More UNM school spirit includes attending the Hanging of the Greens, winter event, which takes place in December near the final exams week! Hanging of the Greens is a historical UNM tradition which goes back several decades. You can invite your family and friends to attend this winter holiday event, which features a walk-through the campus, a meal at the UNM Hodgin Hall Alumni Center, and celebrate the end of the semester of studies! The UNM Main Campus location is home to the Student Union Building (SUB) where music and art events take place, there are restaurants, and meeting rooms. You can have fun and gain a great education here in Albuquerque and at the UNM college!
You can find local and national chain restaurants in the SUB. Also, the SUB features a bank, a grocery store, and a lounge for your enjoyment! The SUB is home to a few ballrooms and places for business meetings. If need a venue for a gathering, social networking event, or formal dance; the UNM SUB offers catering services, video and audio equipment, and room for your next meeting! Find yourself in education and become involved with this great college here in Albuquerque.
Located on Main Campus is the historic Zimmerman Library that holds access to information databases, state records, and historical accounts. The Zimmerman Library provides a center for books, student success, and features quite a few databases! You can brush up on literature and news articles here at the Zimmerman Library. Zimmerman Library has famous paintings, is well known for its tutoring services, computer pods and rooms, and has a coffee shop too.
Another fun fact about the UNM Main Campus is that it includes a great biodiversity of plants and trees. UNM Main Campus is home to an abundance of plants; you can visit UNM in Albuquerque and see native plant species here too! UNM Main Campus features many events spread throughout the year. During the spring and fall semesters, the SUB movie theater shows movies weekly for a cheap price. UNM Homecoming Week takes place in September. There is a Homecoming Football Game at Dreamstyle Stadium and UNM Lobo festivities throughout the entire week.
Next, UNM Hanging of the Greens is a holiday celebration during one evening in the winter season. UNM lobos and community members are encouraged to attend to see the festivities and join in on the singing celebration. There is soup and hot chocolate at the event too.
During the spring, UNM student government hosts the Fiestas Event on Johnson Field, where a day of music happens. There are organizations providing food, Lobo gear, and musicians performing into the evening.

UNM Main Campus is home to several museums, a few of which are the Maxwell Museum of Anthropology, the Museum of Southwestern Biology, and the University Art Museum. Be sure to check out these and the other UNM museums and galleries. UNM museums include history, art, and earth science. My favorite museum is the UNM University Art Museum, because the galleries rotate very often and feature student art, projects, and information! You can spend an entire afternoon just attending each UNM Museum! Be sure to find a parking space and purchase a ticket for some of the museums.
UNM is a large state employer. UNM hires a large amount of students into Residence Life Student Housing jobs, Zimmerman Library tutoring services, and for part time positions inside the Student Union Building.
