Trusted Albuquerque Real Estate Expertise Since 2010

Buying or selling a home is one of the biggest financial decisions most people will ever make. The process can feel overwhelming, especially in a constantly changing market. My goal has always been simple: help clients make informed real estate decisions with honest advice, strong communication, and experienced guidance.

I am John Myers, Owner and Qualifying Broker of Myers & Myers Real Estate. I have been helping buyers, sellers, and real estate investors throughout Albuquerque and Central New Mexico since 2010. I work extensively throughout Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Corrales, Placitas, Los Lunas, and the East Mountains.

Clients often describe me as calm, knowledgeable, trustworthy, and highly responsive. I take pride in helping people understand the real estate process instead of simply trying to “sell” them a house. Real estate is not about pressure or hype. It is about strategy, communication, market knowledge, and helping people achieve their goals.

A Lifelong New Mexico Resident With Deep Local Knowledge

A Lifelong New Mexico Resident With Deep Local Knowledge.

I have lived in Albuquerque since 1981 and have spent decades watching the city, neighborhoods, and surrounding communities evolve. This long-term perspective gives me insight that goes beyond what most buyers and sellers can find online.

Every area in Albuquerque has its own personality, strengths, challenges, and long-term market trends. Rio Rancho is very different from Corrales. Placitas is very different from Northeast Albuquerque. The East Mountains require different considerations than homes in the city.

I believe buyers and sellers deserve more than generic marketing descriptions. My job is to help clients understand the realities of each area so they can make confident decisions. That includes helping clients understand:

  • Neighborhood trends
  • Property values and pricing strategy
  • Builder quality and construction concerns
  • Commute patterns and traffic flow
  • Septic systems and wells
  • Irrigation rights and acreage properties
  • Luxury home market trends
  • Investment potential and resale considerations
  • Inspection concerns and maintenance issues
  • Market timing and negotiation strategy

This type of detailed local knowledge helps clients avoid costly mistakes and make smarter long-term decisions.

Helping Clients Make Informed Decisions

One of the compliments I hear most often from clients is that I explain things in a way that is easy to understand. Real estate transactions can involve complex contracts, inspections, negotiations, financing issues, appraisal concerns, and construction problems. Many buyers and sellers simply want someone they can trust to guide them through the process honestly and clearly.

I believe communication matters. I return phone calls, emails, and text messages promptly because clients deserve updates and answers throughout the transaction.

Too many people have experienced poor communication in real estate. I work hard to make sure my clients never feel ignored or left wondering what is happening.

Experienced Listing Agent and Negotiator

Over the years, I have helped sellers navigate many different types of markets, from highly competitive seller markets to slower, more challenging ones.

Pricing strategy is one of the most important parts of successfully selling a home. Overpricing can cause a home to sit on the market and become stale. Underpricing can leave money on the table. My approach focuses on market data, buyer behavior, competition, and negotiation strategy to position homes effectively. I also help sellers understand:

  • Which upgrades actually matter to buyers
  • Which repairs should be completed before listing
  • How inspections impact negotiations
  • What buyers notice during showings
  • How online presentation affects interest and activity
  • How builders and new construction compete with resale homes
  • How market conditions impact pricing and timing

Every property is different. A luxury home in North Albuquerque Acres requires a different strategy than an entry-level home in Rio Rancho. My goal is to create a customized strategy based on the home, the market, and the seller’s goals.

Luxury Homes and Higher-End Properties

I enjoy working with mid- to upper-end properties because these transactions often require more detailed market analysis, stronger negotiation skills, and a higher level of strategic thinking.

Luxury buyers and sellers typically seek more than basic representation. They want market insight, discretion, communication, and an agent who understands how location, construction quality, lot characteristics, upgrades, and long-term resale value impact pricing.

Whether working with homes in North Albuquerque Acres, Corrales, Placitas, Los Ranchos, or luxury properties throughout Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, I focus on helping clients understand the full picture of the market.

New Construction and Builder Expertise

Strong negotiation skills can save or cost thousands of dollars in a transaction. Negotiations involve much more than the initial offer price. Inspection objections, appraisal issues, financing contingencies, closing timelines, repairs, and buyer concessions all impact the final outcome.

Experienced negotiators understand:

  • Buyer psychology
  • Contract leverage
  • Inspection strategy
  • Market timing
  • Financing strength
  • Risk management
  • Appraisal concerns
  • Multiple-offer dynamics

The strongest negotiators are typically calm, analytical, and strategic rather than aggressive or emotional. Sellers benefit from working with someone who can help evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of each offer while protecting their long-term interests.

Real Estate Investor Knowledge

In addition to helping traditional buyers and sellers, I also have personal experience as a real estate investor. I own single-family rental properties and understand many of the considerations investors face when evaluating opportunities.

I have experience helping investors with:

  • Rental properties
  • Fix-and-flip projects
  • Bank-owned homes
  • Distressed properties
  • Market analysis
  • Long-term appreciation potential
  • Property condition concerns

Investment real estate requires a different type of analysis than traditional home buying, and I enjoy helping investors evaluate risk, opportunity, and long-term value.

Problem Solving and Difficult Transactions

One of my strengths is helping clients navigate difficult or complex situations. Not every transaction is easy, and experience matters when challenges arise.

Over the years, I have helped clients with:

  • Short sales
  • Bank-owned homes
  • Probate situations
  • Difficult inspections
  • Financing challenges
  • Complex negotiations
  • Distressed properties
  • Out-of-state buyers and sellers

I approach transactions with a problem-solving mindset and work hard to keep deals together while protecting my clients’ interests.

A Different Approach to Real Estate

I believe the role of a real estate agent is not simply to open doors or push transactions. Buyers and sellers deserve honest advice, strong advocacy, market expertise, and someone focused on helping them achieve their goals.

My approach to real estate is shaped not only by years of experience in the market, but also by my educational background. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Finance. These backgrounds helped develop the analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills I use every day when helping clients evaluate real estate decisions, pricing strategies, negotiations, market trends, and investment opportunities.

Real estate transactions often involve significant financial and long-term lifestyle decisions. I believe clients benefit from working with someone who approaches those decisions with both practical market experience and a strong analytical foundation.

My business has been built largely through referrals and repeat clients because I prioritize relationships, trust, communication, and long-term results over high-pressure sales tactics.

Whether you are buying your first home, selling a luxury property, relocating to Albuquerque, purchasing new construction, or exploring investment opportunities, my goal is to provide experienced guidance and straightforward advice throughout the process.
