Explora Science Math & Fun

Explora!, a science and math center is located at 1701 Mountain Road NW in the heart of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Offering diverse and fun activities relating to the Stem fields of science and math, Explora! provides educational learning programs too. Explora! is located near Old Town and is immediately north of Albuquerque’s historic Tiguex Park.

The unique location provides a great venue for a day of learning and relaxation, because its location is very close to restaurants and museums. Be sure to check out the website of Explora! to learn about the educational learning programs that are offered there.

Exhibits

Explora!’s wide range of science exhibits fill two floors and offer great educational learning. the first floor allows you to explore the life of water, visualize how friction and movement interact with gravity, and play with lights and colors. These activities are very unique.

Next, you will walk up the staircase and find yourself walking close by the bike on a high wire. This is a safe and fun activity. You are secured to the bike, which hovers over 2 stories high for you to ride back and forth. Additional exhibits on the second floor include learning about perception using shadows, how sound interacts with shapes, and an area to actively interact with creating bubbles.

Ideas!

Ideas! is Explora!’s store located inside the museum, on the first floor, and near the entrance to Explora! There are puzzles, art, and games relating to the Stem fields that are fun. The activities and kits sold are for all ages and allow you to create, learn, and explore the sciences.

Purchases are tax-free, because non-profit status is registered at Explora!. The museum is supported by the purchases at the store. Be sure to check out discounts for teachers and members at the store. Really take a look and find a fun activity kit to continue learning science at home

Opportunities

There are membership, volunteering, and workshop opportunities for everyone at Explora! Being an Explora! member will allow you to receive many discounts at the Ideas! store, visit the museum, and allow you to use your card at other science centers, who are part of the Association of Science Technology Centers.

Explora! volunteering program is incredible. As a volunteer you can help with the museum programs and wide range of events taking place throughout the year. You can receive training to become an assistant in an exhibit or become a mentor. Volunteers can gain hours of service and volunteering is open to high school students too.

Explora! workshop opportunities are offered for after school educators and school teachers. These workshops provide tools and learning strategies for you to take back into your classroom and show your students science and math learning activities that are fun and educational. Some workshops for educators provide the hands-on training, and show you the computer programs, and how to navigate facilitating a talk about the science and math learning activity.
