Here are some quick, wonderful facts about the city of Albuquerque. Albuquerque is home to over 300 days of sunshine every year. We received lots of sunshine, because Albuquerque is located in the high desert region and climate of the southwestern United States. Albuquerque is a very comfortable and affordable place to live in. Albuquerque sees rain and snow too.

An example of what a typical day in the spring weather here in Albuquerque is that the temperature is 74 degrees and the low is 44 in the evening. It is mostly sunny with warm temperatures, and a small chance of rain every few weeks in Albuquerque. This weather makes it ideal for visiting right now. If there is a great time to visit Albuquerque, it would be right now, because the weather is cool enough for walking around, but the evening temperature is warm enough to be outside with a light jacket.

If you are planning to hike and walk around the Sandia Mountains and in the surrounding areas of Albuquerque, plan on arriving and visiting in May. The morning and afternoon temperatures will be just right for you to hike and walk around the high elevations. From the Sandia Mountains and surrounding areas, you can really take in the view of the mountains, the forest, and the views of the city.

Albuquerque is home to several points of interests and places to visit, such as the Historic Old Town and Nob Hill District. You will be certainly amazed at what Albuquerque is and what the points of interests are.

Historic Old Town Albuquerque

Old Town is the heart of Albuquerque and is the foundation of Albuquerque’s history and culture. Old Town is the historical place of interest, located off Rio Grande Blvd and the iconic Route 66, also known as Central Avenue. Old Town encompasses a diverse neighborhood of local restaurants, shops, a church, and a plaza complete with a full gazebo. The plaza with the gazebo is a great ideal place for weddings, celebrations, and music events. If you are interested in planning an event, make sure to contact the Albuquerque Old Town and set up a celebration event for your family and friends.

Usually, you walk around Old Town during the summer months and participate in the free, local events that take place. The events can be found online. Make sure to plan ahead and look up the Old Town calendar for music events, dances, and fiestas. Be sure to really stop by and take in all the history that his plaza has to offer. Old Town is about a little older than 300 years.
Also, Old Town is home to a few tours, which show you the history of the Old Town plaza and nearby buildings. The Old Town tours take you on the historical journey of Albuquerque’s Old Town and is about what took place when and where inside the plaza area.

Old Town features stunning visuals such as the Spanish influenced Native New Mexican artwork in its architecture and plaza features. Old Town includes adobe style buildings too. There is even a market place, where jewelry is sold on the weekend mornings and afternoons by local Native New Mexican artists.

Museums in Albuquerque

Some cool Albuquerque museums are located just right next to the Old Town plaza area. Make sure to hop on by and stop by them for exciting information about art, history, culture, and science. These places of interest are called the Albuquerque Museum, the New Mexico Museum of Natural History, and the Explora! Science Center. Be sure to stop by the New Mexico Museum of Natural History to see pre-historic informational data, visual diagrams of dinosaurs, and the huge movie screen that shows nature movies weekly. This museum is hosting art events, science events, and allows for you to attend workshops. Make sure to check out the online website for upcoming and new information about the events this museum is hosting.

Across the New Mexico Museum of Natural History Museum is the Explora! Science Center. Explora! Science Center holds interactive events, and includes both adult and children activities. These activities include how light refracts, how mirrors work, and even an area to make large bubbles. Also, if you become a member of these two places, you will receive discounts and be invited to special members only events.

This science center is home to fun math and science activities. You can learn about how water travels, how physics occurs, and about programming legos to move. Please note that some events required ticket(s) to be purchased in advances. Make sure to buy your tickets right away, especially if you are attending the adult night events, where the activities are exciting and geared for the adult audience. Downtown Albuquerque

After a taste of some of Albuquerque’s Old Town and the museums, plan to drive or even walk to the Downtown Albuquerque area. As soon as you arrive, you will see an area that expands from the corner of 6th Street and Central to the corner of 2nd Street and Central. This area of Downtown Albuquerque is home to fun, evening events, and some yearly events too. You can check the online Albuquerque websites about the yearly summer fest music concert that takes place in the Civic Plaza area. This is a free and fun event for the entire family.

Other Downtown Albuquerque events include fairs, music events, and cultural events. You can find online about these events and learn when they are. There is a lot to see in the Albuquerque Downtown area. Make sure to spend your summer in the Albuquerque Downtown area to really gain a feel of what the events are about.

Downtown Albuquerque is a really incredible place of restaurants, coffee shops, and entertainment venues. The restaurants range from hamburgers, Italian, and Chinese food. The downtown coffee shops offer great places for business meetings, a place to catch up with old friends, and exotic coffee flavors too.

Downtown is a hub of business and City Hall, with the Civic Plaza and the Albuquerque Convention Center that holds special events throughout the entire year. Nob Hill District

If you thought Downtown Albuquerque was lively and hopping, then you will need to make an entire evening to roaming around the Nob Hill District of Albuquerque. Nob Hill District is located right east to the University of New Mexico Albuquerque Main Campus and continues east to the street corner of San Mateo and Route 66 (Central). The Nob Hill District features hip restaurants of steak, fish and chips, sushi, and fast food. Nob Hill District includes a few stores and shops for your needs too. Also, Nob Hill District is known for being the place of the City of Albuquerque Route 66 Summerfest during the summer.

The yearly summer fest that takes place in the Nob Hill District provides you great entertainment from famous live bands, includes local Albuquerque musicians, and local businesses participating too. There are foods and family activities at this summer fest. The summer fest is a day-long event and is free.

Another exciting yearly event in the Nob Hill District includes the Twinkle Light Parade. This special event takes place in December. You can find parking along the Central Avenue in Nob Hill and take a seat to watch the local Albuquerque groups and organizations do a parade. There is music and festivities in this event. Casinos Near Albuquerque

Once you have journeyed around the Route 66 and Central Avenue, stop by the casinos of the Albuquerque outskirts. They border Albuquerque and are the huge and major entertainment centers. Take a day off and relax at one of these casinos. Some have spas and bowling alleys. Some have offer low priced rooms for an evening. These are places to have fun and a great time. They are stunning and spectacular in size and architecture.
